Professor Harris, a long time chair, has created many programs at The University of Tampa including Photography, Digital Arts, Graphic Design as well as helping form the Communication Department. Although he began as a painter, he currently works primarily with digitally altered photographs. In addition to painting, drawing, photography, video production and computer imaging, he has done many collaborative installations and performance pieces.

Together with Rob Bovarnik, a UT alumnus, he formed a photography and video production company, Rob/Harris Productions, a pioneering audio visual production company in the Tampa Bay area.
